Len Davies

I started DJ'ing at the tender age of 14 in 1968 (yep that's 40 years now aaagh!) and my first ever track was Marvin Gaye, "I heard it through the grapevine" on the old school record player in a wooden box (how many remember those eh?).

After a stint in the RAF on the forces radio I started mobile DJ'ing, which led to several years of fun in Cornwall working at the holiday camps amongst others, then a move back to my home town of Cardiff led to an expansion of the DJ scene in the early 80's with the first video disco (that I know of) in the South Wales area. Stints on Hospital radio and local broadcasters followed, and in 1989 a move to Germany that led to the birth of "The Magical History Tour" at the Jovel Music Hall/nightclub in Muenster every wednesday evening. It started with 400 people and in 6 months had built to over 2,000, and we managed to maintain that for 5 years before I left Germany.

The show is still going strong, although mobile, and on the road is bigger than ever, which has prompted the return to radio and this opportunity to bring "The Magical History Tour" to Solid Gold 14k. I love music, period, and that's why The Magical History Tour brings you everything from rock to soul and all points inbetween. Most importantly I love to hear from the listeners as you are the reason we do this at the end of the day.
Email me at len@spectrum-multimedia.com and I'll get whatever requests and dedications I can on the air. Also I love to hear "Where you were when you first heard that song" so please send in your stroies and the track that provokes that memory.

I look forward to bringing a little sunshine into Thursday afternoons between 3pm and 6pm EST with The Magical History Tour.

Good Times & GREAT Oldies!!
